About Dani Reel

Dani loves to paint an impression of what she sees in nature and the outside natural light. The western landscapes are so inspirational and invigorating as she tries to capture the essence of their beauty in all types of weather and conditions.  She has done primarily the western landscapes of Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana areas and many of her recent paintings have been painted on private lands along the foothills of both sides of the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming.  Dani has painted for the past  30 years in pastels, watercolors and oils and prior to painting she was a goldsmith and jewelry designer.

Dani has also traveled to many foreign countries and most of the USA.  She and a painting partner spent a month in a 16th C. stone house in the Provence and painted on lands that had been frequented by Monet, VanGogh, Cezanne and others.  She grew up on the east coast but has lived in Jackson and Sheridan, Wyoming for the past 41 years.

Dani received her education from the University of Vermont, Parsons School of Design-NY, and the Sheridan College.  She has also taken numerous workshops over the years.  Dani is a signature member of the WY. Watercolor Society, past WYWS President 1993-95 and past V.Pres/Sec. 2003-2005.
